Alexei is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Bleximo Corp., a company developing first-generation quantum computers. Alexei’s career spans a diverse range of leadership roles, from starting and funding a university research group to co-founding start-ups, advising technology companies, designing and deploying research and prototyping facilities. In these roles, he has overseen new product and technology development, finance, human resources and recruiting, legal, and operations. Alexei co-authored publications in leading scientific and engineering journals and served as a reviewer and expert for journals, government and private funding agencies.

Alexei graduated with an MS degree in Physics and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and the Kapitza Institute for Physical Problems, and received his PhD in Physics from Leiden University, the Netherlands. After a postdoctoral appointment at the University of California, Berkeley, Alexei was an Assistant and Associate Professor of Physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta (USA). In 2004, he received the US National Science Foundation’s Early Career Development (CAREER) Fellowship.  In 2010-2011, Alexei was the Deputy Director of Research at the National Nano-, Bio-, Info-, and Cognitive Technologies Center in Moscow, Russia. In 2012-2014, Alexei worked in the Skolkovo Foundation, where he led the analysis of Foundation’s strategic needs in R&D facilities and, subsequently, their technical design.

Alexei’s extended family has a long history of battling different oncological diseases. He is committed to work towards advancing the day, when cancer is completely eradicated.
