NEWS OF THE XXIII RUSSIAN ONCOLOGY CONGRESS

On the first day of the XXIII Russian Oncology Congress, the Foundation for Cancer Research Support and the Russian Society of Clinical Oncology held a joint workshop on clinical research in oncology “What is needed to initiate your own clinical trial”, during which the experts discussed the questions of preparation of a protocol and statistical design of the study, seeking funding and legal framework for the organization of clinical trials in Russia. In the near future, read the detailed material with the main points of the talks presented at the session. Prior to the workshop, RakFond, ACTO, and RUSSCO published a brochure for researchers on the regulatory support of clinical trials in oncology.

During the opening session, the awarding ceremony was held:

– Valeriya Sayovets (Chelyabinsk Regional Clinical Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, Chelyabinsk) received the RakFond and RUSSCO award for the best research;

– Mariya Stepanova (St. Petersburg Clinical Scientific and Practical Center for Specialized Medical Assistance (Oncology), St. Petersburg), who received in 2018 a joint research grant from RUSSCO and the RakFond for young scientists and early-career investigators in oncology, took the third place in the competition for young scientists for the work “Determining the relationship between the decrease of tumor volume and ctDNA for PFS in patients with T790M-associated NSCLC during the treatment with the 3rd generation TKIs.”
